Save Our Beach Association
Action

In the past ten years, Surfside Beach has been affected by ten hurricanes and tropical storms: Nicholas (2021); Hanna, Marco, and Laura (2020); Harvey (2017); Gustav and Ike (2008); Dean (2007); Rita (2005); and Claudette (2003). SOBA members are taking the lead in keeping our neighbors informed, organizing emergency management training, and coordinating efforts with the local village government and first responders.
Planning. The most important action you can take is to download the Brazoria OEM app to your cell phone. This provides alerts and critical information before, during, and after an emergency. Go to your app store and search for "Brazoria OEM."
You should also review some of the guides provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other organizations. Please see below.

Training. If you are willing and able to help your community, you should consider undergoing training:

-
FEMA Incident Command System (ICS), and
-
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training.
